Are you crazy?I never received the sander, even though I paid for it and it ran through my bank, so the dealer got his money; but I received NOTHING !!!
I bought this to replace my 5 year old Makita palm sander.
This is a great little sander for small jobs. It's real easy to put on the sand paper. The bag blows off but you really don't need it. It works great!
So far the units performs acceptable. I've used it for about 15 minutes and does pretty good for the money. However, the vacuum hose supplied is too flexible and collapses when vacuum is applied. I modified it by cutting it down to only 3 inches long, then adapting it to my vacuum hose. The vacuum design catches the small particles which would otherwise be a cloud of dust, but the leaves behind a considerable amount of the larger dust particles. I still think it will work OK for me.

I'm very impressed by this machine... I've had other Grizzly machines that were not so great, but this one is solid. Very sturdy build.... the cabinet, door and supports are solid, the paint and details are well-done, and the cast iron table is very nicely finished to a near-polish. The machine is obviously built in the same Chinese factory that builds the Delta edge sander. But Grizzly offers this smaller model... important to me since my shop is tight for space (the footprint is surprisingly small). The dual dust collection ports swing back and latch, allowing you to sand longer pieces despite the smaller size.
I purchased this sander a few months ago and have been very pleased so far.The shipping box had a hole punched in it but the sander was not damaged.It sanded beautifully right out of the box with no adjustments necessary.The main use is for edge sanding face frames.Whether you sand one or several at a time the tracking belt holds each piece in place.I would recommend the required 18 amp circuit or you will be re-setting your circuit breaker.I only have a 15 amp circuit which works fine as long as you don't push the sander too hard, especially if you sand wide pieces.Highly recommended.
This finishing sander is a pleasure to use.I usually use a Dewalt 5" random orbit sander for finishing the face of my work pieces as it is very "error proof".However, I find a random orbit sander difficult to use on the edge of boards and in corners.
I really like this tool. It works very well for the purpose for which I bought it- working in tight places. I would further comment on a review I read BEFORE buying this tool. IT DOES REQUIRE A HIGH VOLUME OF AIR!! A "kiddie compressor" will not do! I have a 6 Hp/ 33 gallon compressor and it works OK for this tool. A larger system would be better. So, if you wish to use this tool with a small volume compressor, you may be dissapointed in the performance of this tool.
After having 2 chinese belt sanders give up the ghost, I finally bought one of these (from another vendor). I wish I had bought this first.The quality of this sander is dramatically better than those other sanders.
I purchased a Makita belt sander model 9910 from CPO Makita. Amazon went through fine and CPO shipped item on time and it arrived right on time. Thats all I can say good about this transaction. First the beltsander was totally filled with saw dust, it was like it was just taken off a job and placed in the box. I took the time to blow the unit off and get it cleaned up. Then I attached the sandpaper belt and plugged it in. It sounded nice, quiet opperation and it ran well, the problem was the belt was NOT moving. Thinking the belt wasnt tight I looked around for an adjustment and noticed that the geared side of the belt roller was stuck and wouldnt move. So I took apart the gear belt cover and saw that the whole belt was incased in gunk, and the actual gear belt totally shreaded and broken. So the motor was working fine but the gear belt was torn up. So this was Not reconditioned, someone just pulled the tigger said hmm works fine, not noticing the belt wasnt moving and packaged it up and said SUCKER. OK I can understand maybe the unit got overlooked and wasnt cleaned, or the belt broke when I tested it, or the ton of caked on gunk inside the belt casing just got missed,even the reconditioned tag was worn and torn off, but to miss ALL of these things CPO dropped the ball. I dont fault Amazon on this and im sure if I complained they would fix the problem. Normally I would not put up such a stink but i was counting on having this beltsander for a weekend project, not to be. The beltsander itself looks like it will be a good one built very nice, makita did a good job on the design. I have ordered the replacement belt via another company. I will eat this purchase because its not worth shipping back only to get another piece of junk at least I know what I got with this one. CPO dosent have to worry about bad reviews from me again, Because im never using CPO Makita again. Bottom line is Beware reconditioned items.
i have had all brands of grinders over the years, but the milwaukee seems to hold up the best, but their 5 inch grinder tops them all, more power, holds a 5 inch blade which i think is the smallest size i would use, and still is a compact machine with lots of power.excellent choice!
All I can say about this Cleaning Block is WOW !!!! I don't know how it does it, but it makes plugged sand paper like NEW !!
I have owned two of these sanders.The one I just purchased was number two.I absolutely wore out the first one.i do a lot of sanding on various projects and by a lot I mean hundreds of hours.I used the first one forcabinet work and it worked error free for about 500 hours and then a bearing began to get noisy so it's off to be rebuilt. I could not do without a sander because I was in the middle of a huge project and bought this one.It is a little heavier which is ok and has higher rpm which is great.I really like this sander and would recommend it to anyone.Attached to a shop vac there is just no dust, but the filters do need to be cleaned fairly often to keep the suction up. It's a great sander!
Bought this sander several years ago.Very happy with it's size and quality, but it just up and died.Probably used it a total of 30 hours over the course of these years.It was well cared for, properly oiled, etc. Maybe I didn't use it enough to keep it functioning properly. Disappointed.
I owned a 10 year old Black and Decker 1/4 sheet palm sander that was very loud, very dusty, and very prone to vibration.I mainly only use my belt sander and random orbital sander anyway, but there are those times when a 1/4 sheet sander is still the best tool for the job.So, I bought this unit as a replacement.First I will start with the good stuff:
Came as advertised. Fit sander fine. Haven't used them much yet but worked fine so far. This size of belt is not easy to find in local home stores (Home Depot, Lowes, Ace Hardware, etc.)
Factory reconditioned is a misnomer. This R2600 sander was a well used
These are what they are and they do work - but one strange thing I have noticed is that these seem much more prone to wandering than previous belts I have used on my sander.They seem to become more stable after they have been mounted for a few days.
I'd been wanting to upgrade my (hobbyist) wood sanding capabilities for several months. I usually do a thorough research job online, then visit retailers who stock whatever I narrow down. This purchase was no exception, but $350 is a chunk of change for some of us, and my "work shop" has limited floor space.

Great pneumatic sander.Good hold, excellent action.Solid feel, not noisy.Need to watch out for the offset cam when you place your hands near shaft.Easy to learn that and hold safely.No other concerns.Great machine!

I've since bought a full selection of sanding disc's. The pad is the perfect size and softness for sanding lathe turned bowls. Sanding disc's go quite a long time before needing to change also. Excellent product at a fair price.
Why mess with booze and drugs when we have Proxxon available?? This great little sander is a part of the 12 volt Micromot system, and is yet another item to cause both my dog and I to wet down the floor when the UPS man comes..... Now, remember when you buy these 12 volt candies that a transformer is required for them, and I suggest the beefier Proxxon unit. Next comes a handpiece, a drillpress which uses the handpiece,a vice for the press and another to hold the tool for hands-free use, and then, an assortment of these little gems..... The beauty of the 12 volt system, in this case, is that one can use wet/dry paper with water, and not fry oneself in the process. Also, as opposed to The Mouse or other small detail sanders with velcro-style paper holders, this baby can use any grade of paper--- I use a lot of 800 and 1200 grit for metal work. In action, it feels very good and fits the hand quite naturally. The speed control lends a lot of versatility,as well.
These are the belts to use.They are long lasting, heavy duty belts with a heavy cloth backing.I live on my belt sander and these are the only belts I use because they last longer and hold up the best.
I bought this product over a month ago for my personal wood shop, so far it's been able to handle everything I throw at it. I really like the sanding length on the 4-inch belt, but it would be useful if the 6-Inch disc Sander was an 8-inch. (but I was able to manage around that).
This tool is very impressive and not a toy as some others may be.If Jet keeps this type of quality in workmanship going and the costs down, the competition will be blown away.The first thing that impressed me was the weight.You will need two adults to get it out of the box and without a mobile base this unit will stay parked in the shop. The fininh was well done and it looks like a tool that will last a life time. Assembly was a snap and the instructions were well written.I could not believe how quiet this unit runs and without vibration !I also like the idea of one dust port for both ends of the tool. I have another Jet product and I noticed if there is anything I could say in the negative sense is the 90/45 deg. stops could be better. This would not change my mind about the unit ,it's just an observation that needs a mention.I really don't think anyone would be dissapointed with the purchase of this one ! Good Job Jet!
I picked this up as part of a combo pack that included a Bosch variable speed jig saw.I've used it for a good 8 months or so through a handful of home woodworking projects.
Invaluable for the advanced hobbyist, or professional wood carver/worker. Well balanced tool with quick and easy controls and variable speeds for power selection. Very rugged -- I use it as a professional artist and have purchased an second one to share with an assistant. Pricey, but worth every dime.
This tools gets more then 5 stars from me. I am a professional finish carpenter, and I have all the proper power tools for sanding, but sometimes you need a soft touch. Or sometimes you just have a little sanding to do. This sander uses the same size belt as most common electric sanders, so you don't need any special paper. The rounded corner of the sand devil is the perfect size for sanding things to fit around bull nose corner bead. It has a good grip, and you can change paper in a flash.
I was angered and frustrated by the run around I received from Shop Fox when I attempted to resolve a problem requiring a technical question and possibly the purchase of a spare part! I definetly needed consumables(sandpaper rolls). ShopFox told me to contact my "Authorized dealer", which in this case was supposedly Amazon! Amazon customer service had no clue, no info on service parts or sandpapers available! After numerous discussions with various customer service people at Amazon, they called ShopFox and got the info for me and the issue was resolved! The lesson is, do not purchase ShopFox from Amazon, since they cannot service you, nor do they have the data to do so! ShopFox will only tell you to purchase their product from the handful of dealers listed on their website, some of which I am familiar with and would never do business with! I have 3 ShopFox machines......they are my last! I will never buy that brand again! I love Amazon, but they should not sell something they cannot service!
This sandpaper fits the 22-44 sander perfectly. If you dont want to cut your own, and I don't, the this is a good value and its ready to go.
This is a solid, smooth running machine with heavy duty castings and ample power.This unit runs smoother, and with less noise and vibration compared to the Delta 31-280.The 1725 RPM speed produces less burning on sensitive woods like cherry.
I have been looking for a total sanding solution for my shop for a long long time.I think I have tried everything out there- Belt snaders, RO sanders, Orbital, drum sanders, etc.Nothing performed in a way I would ever rave about.Belt sanders are very aggressive, but are also very tiring, noisy and dusty, RO sanders are easier to control, but aren't good at flattening panels.I tried the "Sand Flee" drum sander and was highly disappointed.
First off I have had experience with wide belt sanders and I wasn't sure if a drum sander was going to be as good.I run a small one man cabinet shop with limited space so I was looking at getting a 15" open end wide belt.The price tag on the wide belt was a little more than I could afford at the time but I had a friend that was selling this machine for $800 so I took it with out complaint.
I have two big complaints about the Grizzly G0512 Edge Sander.First, the plywood wrap-around table is very prone to warp.Mine was so warped when it arrived that I had to fabricate a replacement.Even more disappointing is the poor quality of the sanding belt.The belt has a crude butt joint that bulges and makes smooth sanding impossible.I called Grizzly tech support but they didn't seem to care that their machine arrived virtually unusable.Not wanting to pay the 15% restocking fee, I searched the net in vain for a higher quality belt with the right dimensions. The only solution was to have a belt custom made for me.The new belt works well, but I don't plan on ever buying another Grizzly tool for my shop.
I researched spindle sanders for about a week or so before making a decision to buy the Ridgid EB4424. I liked the idea that it is "multi-purpose" - functioning both as a spindle sander and a belt sander with a tilt table. I couldn't find anything else that offered all the features that the Rigid does, and the $250 price seemed too good to be true (most other spindle sanders cost more, sometimes MUCH more, but with fewer features). I almost didn't buy it because of the low price (made me somewhat suspicious). However, I have other Ridgid products and they have been very reliable.
It seems odd that you need to 'break in' this simple device but you need to. After following the directions, it works like a charm.
The band saw arrived in good condition without any damage or missing parts.Assembled in about 15 minutes and did not need any adjusting.It works well, fairly quiet and with enough power to do the job.The laser and LED lights are a nice touch, but not really that useful. The case is plastic, so it may not last for decades, but the unit is well worth $100. This is not a top of the line band saw, but it is better than I expected for the price.Overall, I am happy with the purchase and would recommend to others.
